Rals Vanguard
[[Main]]
Name: Rals Vangaurd
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Race: Elf
Alliance: Neither
Homeland:
Rals was born in Lerneae where he lived a very boring life. There wasn't really much for him there except the peaceful tranquility that he gained through his sleeping and his training with the bow and arrow and the sword. Though Lerneae was a great place to be, nothing there ever really seemed to happen and he was almost "cursed", or so he believed, to do nothing but relax in the rich life that he had.
Physical Description[Appearance]:
Rals, admittedly, has a unique sense of style compared to everyone else. His black hair is of fair length, enough to cover his left eye. Also, not being a human, it comes as no surprise that he has two horns on his head. Also, being an elf, he has the trademark elfen ears which are large and pointed at the tip which also allows him to hear slightly better than most humans. The majority of his clothing is orange, which is his favorite color, and his vest, shirt, gloves, and pants are all decorated with jewels of Lerneae. He is often looked down upon in his family because of his style compared to the wealth that his family has. On his clothing are the markings of his tribe/family which slightly resemble black flames. For no apparent reasons, Rals wears a long red scarf around his neck.
Ranking: Independent
Personality:
Rals is perhaps one of the laziest and carefree people that anyone will ever meet. He is always calm and never has a temper no matter what the situation, and he is known to be the kind of person that will take the easiest way out possible even if it causes the most trouble. In a way, he is a team player because he is willing to help his allies, but he is not willing to make any decisions even in dire situations. Rals is simply a very laidback person and sees many activities besides fighting as boring, non-exciting, troublesome, and pointless. Although these qualities are usually an undesirable trait for most people, they are these very traits that make Rals as good an archer as he is. Because Rals takes the method that he believes to be the most efficient and easiest way, he doesn't overplan or second guess his moves. Instead, he just reacts and does thing according to a combination of instinct and hasty judgment. Many other archers hold the arrow to their bow and wonder whether or not their shot is good or not. Rals realizes, unconsciously, that you can't think about the "best shot" while an opponent is rampaging and flailing attacks at you. He knows that one needs to be quick, sharp, and swift in order to fire the arrow and not be caught by the grunt of the opponent's attacks.
Warrior Class: Gunner, Ninja

Elemental Affinity: Metal, Gravity
History/Background Story:
The elven birth. Such a glorious sight to behold. Many people gathering together to introduce a newborn into the world. The birth may be glorious, but the elf's life wasn't so glorious. Instead, it was a bore although it did have its ups and downs. Lerneae is where this story takes place and it begins with Rals at the age of 5. Like any of kid his age, Rals was a very mischievous kid who always played tricks on everyone using his bow and arrow toys. He believed that he was a cowboy that was taking down the bad guy. He was very sharp as a child. Most tricks that older kids played didn't worked and he understood a lot about things that other kids his age would be constantly questioning to no end. Unfortunately for Rals, any enjoyment or fun that he had didn't last for long and he soon became tired and bored. One day, Rals was napping in a forest nearby Lerneae when the skies grew dark. "Aww man. Who turned out the sun?" Suddenly, horselike creatures came rushing through the forest, leaping over Rals and heading towards Lerneae. Taking his time, Rals walked back to his home only to find his house destroyed and some of his family dead. "Who would do this? I guess those guys from earlier should be blamed. Well, I guess I'll need to pay them back." He grabbed a real bow and arrow that he inheritted from his grandfather and set off. There wasn't much to be said about the people. They were common guys. Nothing special. Nothing great. Just average guys. He had three arrows in his hand. He aimed the first at the middle person and immediately fired without hesitation or so much as a blink. The first went down without fail. The two remaining men turned at Rals who hadn't done a good job at hiding himself and drew their weapons. He stood there with the two arrows pointed in a V shape within the line of the bow. "I'd be careful if I were you guys. You wouldn't wanna step in my boundary and get pierced by my arrows, would ya?" The men continued towards him, and Rals closed his right eye and in a split second he released the arrows. Both arrows pierced the men directly in their chests and the exact same points for each body. "Wow guys. You three were awful. That was the first fight that I've ever had that actually made me more bored than when I started. I gotta say, I'm disappointed." With that, Rals returned to Lerneae and was immediately seen as a hero. They asked what he wanted in return, and all he wished for is the time to relax and sleep in peace for a few days. His wish was granted.
RPing Sample:
It was a peaceful morning in Lerneae where the carefree Rals vanguard slept beneath the lustrious blue skies and the puffy white clouds that moved along gently with nothing more to do. Rals was a simple person that didn't do work, didn't seek anything in particular except the chance to easily rest alone. The birds chirped quietly above him in a nearby tree, waking him up from his tranquil and happy 13 hour slumber. He stretched a bit, only doing enough to not cramp up as he awoke and nothing more. He sat there in the grass where he awoke and gave out a big yawn that was lazy itself. He looked at his quiver that was perfectly stocked with about 25 arrows. This was more than enough for Rals.
"Wow, I figured that I should actually get some more arrows but now that I look at my quiver I can see that I don't need to. Afterall, why would I need them? It's not like anything actually happens around here. This place can be so boring something and the people here are awful fighters. Even the thieves and bandits that come here are awful. It almost makes me want to try and take over this place on my own....Nah! That would be too much work and it'd be a pain to have to go through the 'in-depth' planning that most people always say it takes in order to pull off something like that. Ugh. Nothing to do here at all. I guess I'll go train to break off some of this boredom. Where to? The forest should do nicely."
Rals set off into the nearby forest, grabbing some targets along the way. He placed a few on some trees and just tossed the rest in random directions that make things a little more difficult. Grabbing his quiver and bow, he raced towards the first target that he saw. He quickly yet casually pulled an arrow from the quiver and shot it at the target before him. It hit in the center. He then jumped into a tree and gazed at a target that would be slightly more difficult to strike. It was between thick trees that couldn't be hit by bouncing the arrow. It would take careful aiming and tricky manuevering.
"This should be different. I'll try this."
He hung upside down by a branch, holding himself by both the branch and the quiver using his feet. He pulled his chest up to grab an arrow from the stationary quiver and he pulled back on the bow. In a flash, he shot the arrow through a tiny opening between the many trees standing between him and the target. It struck in the very center again leaving Rals 2 for 2. He pulled himself up to the branch, strapped it back on his body and jumped down, sprinting to the next target. There were three this time, but he didn't seem unconfident. He pulled out three arrows and placed each in his hands prepared to fire. The tips of the arrows were all touching and the two arrows on the top and bottom were positioned slightly closer to the front than the center one. He fired, the first one curved upward and hit the first target, slicing it in half. The second arrow, which was originally on the bottom, curved beneath the first target's spot and onto the second target, tearing a thin vertical slit in it. The final arrow easily passed straight throughthe spot where the first target was and through the slit that was made in the second target. It then struck the final target dead in its center, sticking there perfectly. He moved on to the final few targets which he accidently tossed into a lake. They were now moving downstream and he couldn't get close enough to retrieve them.
"No problem. This should prove to make the day less dull at least."
There were 6 targets in the lake yet Rals only pulled out 5 arrows. He spun four and threw them all into the air. One by one, he caught them and fired them back into the air. He then pulled out a final arrow and waited. Each of the targets, save for one, were hit in the center and suck when they were hit. The final one was hit in the center on a slant and it flipped onto the final sixth target, causing it to go flying into the air.
"Now."
Rals used that last arrow that he pulled out and pulled back hard on his bow. He then fired the arrow at the flying target, causing it to streamline through the air and at the target. It hit the final one with a bullseye, and the excess force caused it to also strike a tree, nailing the target to it.
"Ah. That was fun. Now, I think its time for another nap. I don't really feel like getting the targets but they're bound to move around later by the wind or something."
Rals then fell asleep instantly, napping in the bushes.
