Meditations (Vivian)

[Hei]

Bartimaeus led her into the cafeteria, a large room filled with numerous tables, only to find that very few people were there. "Go get what you'd like, the cooks customize our meals." He went ahead of her and got himself a slab of raw steak and a glass of water, sitting down at a table in the corner.

[Vivian]

Vivian came back a few minutes later with some cheese, bread, and carrots. She started nibbling a carrot, as she asked quietly. "So... Did I not have to pay for this or...?"

[Hei]

"No, don't worry about it I already paid for you." He cocked his head as he chewed his steak thoughtfully. He realized he knew very little about this mysterious little shapeshifter before him. "Where do you come from?"

[Vivian]

She popped the rest of the carrot into her mouth. "Well, I used to be part of the covenant until about... a month or two ago? I just got bored one day and left."

[Hei]

He nodded. An impetuous nature. That could be dangerous. "How did you find yourself in the Red Forest?"

[Dagomis]

(OOC: Since when do characters pay in the cafe?)

[Hei]

(OOC: Since I hadn't noticed that they don't.)

[Vivian]

(OOC: It a cafeteria. It makes sense.)

"Well, since I got my calling, I've simply been following it. Funny, I haven't gotten anything from it since I found you though." She chewed the bread thoughtfully. "It almost stopped when I found you honestly. I found that very disturbing. It can barely feel it anymore. Its odd."

[Hei]

He swallowed the last piece of his steak. "Well, maybe that just means that you are meant to be in this school, learning with the other students that take up residence here." He smiled kindly, his fangs glinting in the light. "I'd be more than happy to teach you, as you already know."

[Vivian]

"Yes, yes, I suppose...." She seems distracted. She gnawed some more on the bread. She went quiet as she keep eating. She still seemed disturbed.

[Nejisuke]

Nejisuke Metaruhando walks purposefully into the cafeteria with a large leather-bound book in his right hand held up to where he could read it. He deftly walks round tables on his way to the lunch line. He grabs a tray with his free hands and turns the page with his teeth. He glances away from his book only a moment to tell the cafeteria worker "Order 12". The cafeteria worker places 6 large cheeseburgers on the tray and small slice of cherry pie. Nejisuke picks up the tray and walks towards the door. He glances up from his book agains as he nearly trips over someone who had their legs too far out from under their table. He gives them a dirty look, and glances around long enough to notice one of the newer Tsurabi talking to someone he didn't recognize. "More and more people join everyday....." Nejisuke exits the lunchroom.


OOC: sry about interupting your thread, but i needed an excuse to start setting up for something, and this was as good as any.

[Hei]

OOC: It's fine.

IC: Ah yes. The awkward silence. This was the part of conversing with other humans that had always unnerved Bartimaeus. He politely sipped at his glass of water and regarded the shapeshifter. "What elements are your proficiencies?"

[Vivian]

Vivian looked up again. "I'm am a Grahl of the Earthmother." She paused from her eating for a moment. "Do you know what that means?"

[Hei]

He furrowed his brow at the mention of that name. "Not quite. I think it would have to do something with an earth elemental...?"

[Vivian]

"No. Grahl is my rank, a title given to those who have been Awakened by the Earthmother's restlessness to go forth and leave to do her will." She stopped eating altogether. "I'm worried now. I have no idea what I'm doing, but while I was traveling, I had no doubts, but now.... I don't know what I'm supposed to do." She looked up at him curiously now. "What are your religious beliefs?"

[Hei]

He gave her a strange look. "Religion? I have never thought about it nor asked about it. I'm immortal, so religion plays no part in my life." He scratched his head, tail swishing behind him. "I suppose I believe in a higher power but I worship nothing."

[Vivian]

"Your immortal?! And you haven't considered religion?" She took a moment to recompose herself. "If you're going to live forever, don't you think that religion should be more important. If you're going to live forever, someone has big plans for you. Someone bigger any of us."

[Dagomis]

Mamoru walked into the cafeteria, and saw one of his fellow teachers sitting with a female. He walked over to the table and brought a chair to the end to allow himself to be there without being awkwardly at the side of one them. "Hello, Bartimaeus and the beautiful stranger. How are things?" He nodded his head to the girl and then looked at Bartimaeus waiting for the answer.

[Vivian]

IC: She smiled and offered her hand to shake. "Hi! I'm Medina, I've just come to enroll in the school. Sensei here helped me find my way; I was a bit lost in the forest outside."

[Dagomis]

Mamoru gently grasped the hand of the female and kissed it as was traditional in the Demon Realm. "Nice to meet you; I am Mamoru, a Tsurabi here." Mamoru gave a small smile after introducing himself, "And I am glad to hear that our Bartimaeus was able to help you find our esteemed school." After finishing his statement, Mamoru asked a question, "May I ask what classes you plan on taking?"

[Vivian]

"I think that I will be enrolling in only the Spellcasting class." She nibbled a carrot. "What do you teach? You look barely older then me."

[Hei]

He gave a short bark of a laugh. "I'm immortal through shear luck because I was saved from being ripped to shreds. No, this is a punushment for my previous lifestyle, nothing more." He looked up to see Mamoru approaching them. "Hey Moru-kun." He smiled as he and Medina exchanged pleasantries.

[Dagomis]

(I thought the Spellcaster class was replaced; was it not?)

"I personally teach the Interrogation course here." Mamoru thought about Medina's comment on age, "Well, since it would be rude to ask your age; I am only 18 years of age." Mamoru smiled playfully and then looked at his fellow Tsurabi, "How have you been Winter-senpai?"

[Vivian]

OOC: Your character is part spellcaster.

[Hei]

He raised an eyebrow. "Quite well, considering I'm in constant pain." He glanced up at the clock on the wall and cracked his knuckles. "Though soon I will have to make an appearance in my class. How about yourself?"
