Homeland: Light Yagami is from a modernized land that is far from Sentou Gakuin and the Suzaku fortress. In this land, Light grew up as a normal child and lived a normal life besides the fact that he was a genius and achieved high grades and that he had such a brilliant mind. It was in this land that he discovered the Death Note, a book that has many abilities hidden secretly within its bindings.

Appearance:

Light Yagami is a young adult that has a light brown hair color. He stands at 5 feet and 10 inches and is usually wearing a hooded cloak of some kind because he is a part of Suzaku. Another thing that he has underneath the cloak is an average black shirt with white sleeves and a pair of black pants. Average brown shoes are worn of his feet giving him more of a laid back and school like appearance. Often times, Light has a demented smile that may come across his face in times of great joy when he has accomplished a goal. Outside of the shirt he may wear a plain white coat similar to that of a dress coat or jacket.

Personality:
Light Yagami is a brilliant mind in the world that can easily become bored with the way something progresses. He is sharp and quick on his feet and can use even the most basic tools to help him achieve his deepest goals and dreams. Light is both good and evil in a sense. His true and ultimate goal is to rid the world of evil and become the "God of a new world" that will be ruled by him. His sense of justice and his lust for power makes him evil while still good because his viewpoint seems like a good one, but the task that he performs to achieve that goal is of an evil nature, which includes killing others that stand in his way. Light generally has a strong sense of justice and likes the idea of ruling with an iron fist. As mentioned above, his ultimate goal is to become the god of a new utopia that is void of evil.

History/Character's Background Story:

Many details of Light's life from his point of birth are nothing too notable except her has earned a championship in tennis 10 years previously in which he decided to quit tennis after doing so. The real story of his life begins towards the end of his final year of high school. Being the person that he is, Light was bored with school and it didn't help that he was an ace student as well as a genius that never missed a question. As luck would have it, he happened to notice a notebook falling down from the sky outside the school building window. After school, he picked it up and examined it out of sheer curiosity. Labeled on the cover of this book were English letters that read: Death Note. "A Death Note....As in...a notebook of death?" Light didn't believe it at first and assumed that this book was just the product of someone attempting to play a prank on another person. Still, he couldn't help but give it a test just to quench his curious thirst. As he read the rules and tested it, the book seemed to be real as Light incidentally killed his first victim. Partially frightened, Light made his way back home to find a shinigami in his room who was known as Ryuk. Startled, Light wondered who this person or creature was. Eventually, Ryuk informed Light of the Note's abilities and a few of the skills it possessed. It was then that Light decided that he would use the book to cleanse the world of evil and that he would reign in this new evil-free world as the god.
Years passed and attempting to achieve his goals, Light used the book to kill many people through either trickery or by outsmarting them. More years passed and Light was nearly discovered in a warehouse as being a mass murderer but he somehow managed to avoid capture and wipe his criminal slate clean. Weeks passed and Light sought out a new way to do his killing. This search eventually brought him to a man who he knew as "Zero". Zero, who was really Kisuke, knew about Light's powers and knew how they worked so he didn't intend on giving any names. Light was given the offer to join Zero's group known as Suzaku and was informed that it was an evil organization. Light, being the evil do-gooder, decided to join Suzaku and planned on simply using Zero for his own achievements and when the time came, to kill Zero once he learned his name. Unknown to Light though was that Zero was aware of this and didn't plan on having his allies turn on him in such an easy way. Unknown to Zero, was that Light had a shinigami but unfortunately this Shinigami was uncooperative.

RPing Sample:

Light walked upon the long road that seemed to carry on to nowhere. He stopped every so often to speak to his comapanion Ryuk and to ask him various questions that mostly dealt with the Death Note. It had been many years now, and Light knew just as much about the note as Ryuk did, or at least he knew as much as he thought Ryuk did. Still walking, the sky grew fairly dark as time progressed and once the shadows became dark and thick, a figure appeared from the shadow of a nearby object.

"Light Yagami. Also known as 'Kira' and holder of this book known as the Death Note."

Light slowly turned to see who was talking to him and he saw a man with dark red hair that wore a black cloak. He was fairly tall and the shadows around him seemed to compliment his already dark appearance.

"Who wants to know?"
Ryuk was flying nearby with a very large grin on his face which showed the majority of his large sharp teeth. He looked at each person as he was interested to see how the conversation would turn out.

"I am Zero, leader of the evil organization known as Suzaku. I came here with the intentions of having you join me in my organization. You see, I know a lot about you and your powers. More specifically, I know about your book: The Death Note."

Light was a little worried but his worry turned into concentration and thought. He realized that he couldn't get Zero's name easily because Zero knew about the Death Note. The question still remained on whether he knew a lot or a little, but even with the small lack of information, he didn't want to say anything crazy because he quickly thought of plan to use Zero to help him rid the world of evil. Zero, being the leader of all evil and nefarious deeds, was on the top of his Death List.

"So, you know about the Death Note? And you say that you know about me as well? I guess your offer is rather appealing to me and I must say that I'd be honored to join your organization. You see, I wish to rid the world of all who are unworthy and it seems like this organization is a surefire way for me to do this." Damn, he knows about the name and a face rule obviously since he won't say his true name. I can't ask him his name and it would be foolish to try and sneak my way around to it. I guess I'll wait until a good opportunity, and then once I learn it I'll kill him and claim ownership of Suzaku while continuing my task of ridding this world of all evil.

Ryuk continued looking at them and he simply gave a long chuckle at this little agreement. Ryuk always laughed and seemed to find anything that could dissatisfy or jeapordize Light's plans as overall funny. You see, he knew that Light chose his words carefully. He stated that he wished to rid the world of all who are unworthy, but that is a broad statement which could mean good, evil, or indifferent. He didn't lie but he didn't tell the complete truth either. The sheer cunning gave Ryuk satisfication.

That is the question. For now, I'll give approval but if you godmod with him, I'll revoke your approval and you'll have to make another character in place of this one or change his techniques.
