Bringer of Lightning: Tempus [Ethan's Sword]

Name: Tempus

Appearance: Tempus appears only to be a normal longsword, although it is a powerful catalyst for Ethan's alchemy. The hilt of the weapon conists of a hand and a half grip, allowing him to switch easily between one and two hand fighting. It is formed of durable black metal like opal, and is wrapped with a durable, but comfortable-feeling while cloth. The pommel of the sword is an opaque, silvery looking gem, egg shaped and about four inches in length, an inch and three quarters in width. The crossgaurd is a relatively simple one, and turns up at the ends into 6 inch 'spires' which can be used to trap a blade. The blade of sword is about a yard and a half in length, and is about four fingers in width. About halfway up the blade is a deep blue symbol, featuring a jagged diagonal line inside of a circle, with a line dividing it in the middle. Words are inscribed in runic around the outside of the circle, with a small dot at the top and bottom of the circle; above the script on top, below it on the bottom.

Effects: The symbol on the sword is what gives this sword its ability. The symbol is, in actuality, a transmutation circle. It allows Ethan's sword to draw in and direct electrons from the air and make them vibrate, creating electricity. This allows him to use attacks and other techniques through the sword that he would not be able to use otherwise. This means that the sword it allows him to perform lightning alchemy without having to draw a transmutation circle. This cuts down on the time that it takes him to do normal and sword-based lightning alchemy, increasing the speed at which he can attack and defend with alchemaic techniques.

History: Ethan spent about two years in a small industrailized city just a short distance from Sentou Gakuin. Being that he specialized in earth alchemy, this meant that, if he wished, he could detect ore, and draw it out to a degree. While on a stroll outside of the city one day, Ethan suddenly smelled (the ability to smell ore is one of the manifestations of earth alchemy in a person) a particularly pure vein of iron ore nearby. Since it was rare to find iron oar in this type of area, Ethan investigated the source and discovered a cave just outside of the city. Inside of it was iron ore. Using his alchemy, Ethan extracted the ore from the earth around it and carried back to the city in loads. It took him almost three days to carry all of it, but he did. Although he donated much of it to the city's people, he kept a small amount for himself, deciding that he needed a sword of his own if he hoped to become a true warrior. He saught out a smith, and had him make the sword for him, giving him a drawing so that the transmutation circle would be accurate. Two weeks later he had a sword, and it was then that he took off for the acadamy of Sentou Gakuin.

For weapons, there is a new rule that has been added. Weapons affect your character and other character's dice while Equipment, mainly accessories and Armor, affect the attack power with elements and also affects resistance. Otherwise, its still a very good weapon although I can't approve because of the ability and its mis-use.

So your sword has no dice effects affecting you or your opponent? You know that if it doesn't, other than being an additional weapon and being able to attack, it's just an average sword?
