Raven's Spellbook: Liberi Arcanum

Raven's Spellbook: Liberi Arcanum
]Name: Liberi Arcanum; meaning Text of the Arcane
Appearance:
Liberi Arcanum is a reasonabley simple but powerful spellbook passed down from member to member of the Mundael family for generations, and is currently held by spellcaster Ferrus Arden Mundael, better known as Raven. There are several things which are special about this book first, it is what is known as a Learner's Book by the Magus. This means that it reads the aura (elemental affinity) and skill level of the user and will only allow spells of an element that has been mastered by the user and that are within the user's power limit to be shown in the book and thus used. This prevents people from trying to use spells more powerful than they can cast, which would result in disaster. In addition, this book displays the incantations for spells as they are created or learned by the user. Finally, it can not be read by anyone who is not a Magus, thus protecting the sanctity of the user's spell collection. The book is made of strong, durable black leather, which is imprinted on the front and spine with a golden symbol, depicting a ring with a cresent moon on either side. The pages are made of ancient but well preserved parchment which is golden edged, giving the book a somewhat regal appearance.
Abilities: The first of this book's two abilities is one that is supplementary and is active at all times. It is known as Arcana Modus, which means "Arcane Channel" in the common tongue. This book is almost a sentient being, given its "life" so to speak by an aura which is constantly channeled through its surface and pages. This aura has the ability to increase the potency of its user's aura. Thus, as long as Raven is holding the book while casting spells, the power of each attack with an attack dice or special dice with offensive properties, giving each one a bit more kick. This ability also increases the defense dice used to defend by two. This ability takes no energy from Raven himself, and so is used at all times unless he is disarmed or casting without the aid of his book.
The last ability this book obtains is called Anima Modus which means "Spirit Channel" in the common tongue. This book has the ability to store the a sample of the aura of anyone chosen by Raven who makes physical contact with the book. If the word Anima is spoken after the person touches the book, then the person's aura, instead of being dispelled from the surface of the book is analyzed and the book stores it. Upont the word Modus being spoken, the book can then track the aura of the person in question and show where the person is. While this ability is very effective in tracking, there is a weakness. If the person has a high mental acuity or is familiar with the arcane arts, then they can sense this ability and disconnect it if they so wish. Once this is done, the person can not be tracked again, and so it is mostly used by Raven to keep up with his friends' locations. (This is a plot ability more than anything else.)
Attack Power: (No set power, deals damage according to the spell used. However, a punch from Raven has an attack power of 25.)
Dice usage: N/A
Benefits: N/A
History: Upon graduation from the academy and before beginning his exploring, Raven returned to his home to recieve his blessing from his father and to visit his family. His father, delighted to here that he had graduated so soon, bestowed on him the spellbook from his father, so that Raven would have an advantage in the world without having to go look for and create his own spellbook. During his travels through the Shadowlands, Raven trained to master his book and the sentience within it. He soon mastered the book and its sentience eventually mastering the book, which he will pass down to his son should he ever have one. However, should he fail to have a son, his family will be disgraced, and the book will cease to be within the family.

Re: Raven's Spellbook: Liberi Arcanum
For your first ability, when you say that it increases the attack and defense power by 5, you realize that defense techniques have no power in numerical value. Whether they successfully defend is determined by the dice you roll and its value. If you mean to say that the dice roll of attack and defense dice are increased by 5, that would be too high of a value because their are only about 7 of each dice. I would suggest that you say it increases the dice by somewhere from 1-3. Also, remember that there are Counter, Special, and Evade dice as well so if you say the Attack is increased by 2 or something it only counts for an Attack Dice but not a Special Dice with offensive benefits.
(Sorry if that may sound kind of confusing)
For your dice usage, it says Special but your two abilities don't require any Dice [from the description]. What does the Dice correspond to?
