Maya Natsume comes from a small town located far away from Sentou Gakuin. Her homeland was a beautiful sight to behold as it had sakura petals all around and many places for training and for fun. One of the places to go for fun is the Bowling Alley located nearby that is large and open late. Her house was a simple house that was styled after older Japanese house designs. This included sliding doors, wooden walls, wooden floors, and screen windows. Nearby, close to her house was the school she previously attended which is known as Todou Academy. The school is large but looks like any other highschool. Next to that was a women's bath house that is now partially destroyed that allowed females that attended the school to bathe in peace. The town where she lives also has many trees and the greenery is plentiful.

Appearance:
In her child state,
Maya is about 3 feet and 4 inches, close to the size of a young child.
In her average 17 year old form, Maya is about 5 feet and 6 inches.
Because of her two
individual forms, one being that of a child and the other of a
seventeen year old girl, her body changes. In her child form, Maya is
short and slender like most eight year old girls. Her hair is long for
her age and reaches to the ground. As a seventeen year old, Maya's
appearance changes significantly. Her hair grows longer to match her
new height while still hanging just above the ground. Her bust also
grows larger and as mentioned earlier, she grows much taller. In this
form, she is still thin yet powerful. Maya is not shy at
all and not shy about her appearances, as she usually wears revealing
clothing and a mini-skirt. If she is in her child form, she wears a
kimono for a young girl that is a slight bright red color. She wears a
skirt that comes up to her chest and right above her feet when she's in
child form. In the seventeen year old form, Maya is usually wearing the same
clothes from her child form (simply because she is usually in child
form and she transforms). When she changes, the kimono shortens and
goes up to the middle of her stomach. Her skirt becomes a miniskirt as
she grows taller and the skirt stretches. It reaches up to her knees.
When she begins the day in her average form, she is usually wearing a
miniskirt and a school shirt or sometimes a purple shirt that reveals
her arms. She occasionally wears long black pants that are slightly
tight-fitting.

Overall, Maya
Natsume is sometimes stern and demanding but is easily a person to get
along with. When it comes to training, she takes things fairly
seriously especially when in her seventeen year old form. Maya is
serious when fighting depending on the opponent. As a child, she is
playful and silly and often hangs around on people's shoulder. She is
always seen with a happy face unless she is teasing another person for
fun. Although she has a playful side, she has a more serious side when training specific people. She often responds to a failed training technique with a whack from her wooden sword. As a seventeen year old, Maya is more serious. She often trains
with Aya and doesn't go easy on her even though she knows she is the
stronger of the two. A good friend can easily make her happy, but an
enemy can easily enrage her. She dislikes being taken advantage of and
watching her friends get hurt.

History/Character's Background Story:
Maya Natsume was
originally from another land. It was in this land that she was a
powerful warrior that attended the school known as Todou Academy. As a
girl there, she lived a happy life. She spent time with her older
brother Shin Natsume and her younger sister Aya Natsume. She was happy
until the day when her brother died. Her brother fought against a
powerful warrior in the school. The match went on with her brother
losing. He could have used the Natsume clan's Dragon Eyes, but he chose
to fight without it. After the fight, Maya was sad to see her older
brother dead right before her eyes. For awhile, Maya has been trying to
decide why her brother died. She saw him killed in the fight, but she
was unsure about who to blame.
Eventually, Maya left Todou academy while leaving behind a single note
in her sister's room. She had hoped that her sister would join her
someday at a new school that she received word about that would further
increase her abilities. After leaving the academy, Maya traveled on a
long road in order to find Sentou Gakuin. With her, she brought Reiki
which was the legendary sword of the Natsume clan as well as the Evil
Nodachi. After a few months, Maya eventually made her way to the gates
of Sentou Gakuin. There, she was offered the opportunity to fight for a
high ranking, but instead she chose to start over and begin her school
life as a first year yellow ranked warrior. Maya spent most of the time
at the school wondering, or at least she started out at the school
wondering. She began to wonder whether she was to blame or if it was
another person. Eventually, she put her guilt behind her and
concentrated on becoming stronger.
In her Energy class, Maya's sensei allowed her to learn new abilities
which helped her because Maya had a new goal in mind. Her new goal was
to take her abilities to the next level, which she could do by fighting
against a red ranked warrior and hopefully defeating the person in
battle. For a few weeks, Maya considered all of the red warriors and
finally made her decision about who she wished to fight. Her intended
opponent was Kuchiku Faia, which was a person that Maya knew little
about. One thing that Maya knew, was that it wouldn't be easy on an
elemental level since Kuchihu was a fire elemental warrior while Maya
was a wood elemental.

Later, she was offered the opportunity to become a teacher for the
time being of the energy class. At first, Maya seemed enthusiastic, but
Maya has begun to reconsider.
As of now, Maya remains in her child form while making sure that no one
knows of her older form. She wants to keep her identity secret for now.
Perhaps in her future battle she will unleash her true might... Maya has decided since the offer to take Militis up on his offer but still doesn't think she should. Instead, she thinks that she should be at the ranking of Master so that she can help but not take over.

Maya was in class one day in her child form when Militis, her energy teacher, decided the class should go train in the plains. As he requested, the class left although he vanished before she and the rest of the class could. A boy named Deki was in the class and left the classroom after the energy teacher. Maya used this opportunity to jump on his shoulder. Because of her weight, Deki never even noticed her. Deki jogged up to the spot where Militis was. Secretly, Maya was sitting quietly on Deki's
shoulder. "Here I am!!" Maya shouted out happily. She was being silly.
She couldn't help it though, she was a little kid now. She had a ready
look on her face and an average smile across her face. She was ready
for the next phase in her training. "I'm ready Sensei!" Her words were eager and energetic. Militis looked at Maya, then at Deki. He began to speak, "Ok,
the technique the both of you will be learning is Dragon's Breath. This
technique is very much dependent on the training that we have done
today and other days." Militis walked about 2 meters away from his
students, and began to speak again, "In this technique, you are to take
in a deep breath, summon your energy to the back of your mouth, then
force it out in a jet of flame." Militis followed this statement with a
demonstration of the technique. As Militis spoke, Maya noticed Deki look at her and make a shocked face. he didn't seem to notice that she was even up there on his shoulder and to her, that was pretty funny. Maya smiled at Deki and chuckled a bit. "It's
fun to sit on other people's shoulder. It's also much easier than
walking on my own. Besides, I'm so light. It shouldn't bother you."
Maya continued smiling and then she remembered that the teacher had
said that they had to shoot flames. She thought about it and then
realized that she didn't know the flame element. She raised her hand up
high. "Sensei, if we don't know the fire element, will the attack
appear as the element that you do know?" Militis saw Maya and acknowledged it. "It could, but it is easier to shoot flames, and
as I believe that you use wood, if I am correct about that, then it
would be impossible to use wood. So I guess I have to teach you a crash
course." Militis walked a little closer, and looked at Maya. "Now to
gain fire, you must gain your energy into the pit of your stomach, and
then, bring all of your anger to where you energy is and release the
energy into the heart." Maya looked at Militis and attempted to do as he
instructed her to. She thought about her past at the Todou Academy and
thought about the sight of her brother dying in front of her face.
Fears shot up along with anger. The anger was deciding who to blame for
the death of her brother and the fear came from her not being able to
become strong enough for him. She kept thinking about the anger and
soon inhaled deeply. After inhaling for a few seconds, she blew out a
burst of fire. It was a small fire burst that was about half the size
of her head, but it still existed. Afterwards, Maya was breathing
fairly heavy. She wondered if her current fire attack was enough to
learn this new technique that her sensei was about to teach her. After hours of training, Maya was finally able to master the technique. She was also capable of using the fire element now.
