Preemptive Strike(closed)
OOC: This takes place while Light Yagami pursues Hatsugen Sunosuke in an attempt to learn the true name of Suzaku Leader Zero who was known as Angry Earth Eisukke to those at Roy's Sake Hut and simply Zero to Suzaku Members. As Light learned the name of Zero, which is Kisuke Sunosuke, Kisuke foresaw that coming and decided to do some sneaking of his own. At this part, Kisuke is within Light's room within the Darklands.
IC: Kisuke used his powers of shadow to easily make his way into the room of Light Yagami. He stood there for a moment, taking a look around the room of Light. He knew from Light's past that he couldn't be trusted and he knew that he should take a look around the room to learn a bit more information about Light. He knew that Light could kill with a name and a face, which is the reason why Kisuke didn't reveal his true name but instead refferred to himself as Zero. What he didn't know, is exactly how Light had the powers that he did. He wanted to know if this great power came from a skill that Light himself had or from something else. A person, an object, or even something abstract and intangible. Kisuke wanted to know so that he wouldn't risk his life.
Kisuke knew from Light's past that he was persistent and crafty but he figured that if he could find the center of Light's power, he could break him down from the inside and stop all his plans dead in their tracks. Kisuke moved slowly as the footsteps made by his barely visible feet could be heard ever so slightly. He noticed that the room was neat which didn't really surprise him too much. He searched until he saw a book carefully placed on a lone desk. The book read on the cover: Death Note. Kisuke wondered if this book could be the source of Light Yagami's powers. He approached the book and once he was in 6 feet of it, a large guillotine from a hidden cavern in the ceiling shot down above Kisuke. The mighty blade nearly sliced Kisuke in half and would have had it not been for his quick reflexes. The blade of the guillotine retracted back into the ceiling leaving no marks in the room whatsoever.
Obviously, Light must have expected someone to try and sneak around his room. I would call him a paranoid bastard but he's smart for thinking so. He probably knew once he left that I would try this and that I would attempt to get the book. I should have realized that from the fact that the book was laying here in the open or this desk. Now that I know better, I should probably assume that there are more traps set up here...probably designed specifically for me. The only problem with that is that Light doesn't know me very well. He doesn't even know my true name.
Kisuke used a shinigami clone to approach the notebook. Again, the guillotine came down but the clone avoided that. As he approached, another blade from a hidden square in the wall shot forward. Both the clone made of shadow and Kisuke dodged. After dodging, the blade came back in the opposite direction. Simultaneously, Kisuke and the clone dodged. The clone quickly tried to take the book but couldn't get it to budge. He saw a shelf directly beneath the book and attempted to open it but it was locked tight. The shadow tried to phase through it but was destroyed immediately.
What the hell happened? ...No problem. I know what to do now.
Kisuke looked on the floor and noticed a very thin tripwire. He jumped over the tripwire and made his way towards the notebook. He then ducked beneath a series of tripwires that obviously set off the second blade. He was directly in front of the book and didn't touch the shelf. Instead, he personally touched the notebook and opened it. He saw many names written in the book. Some names were written by themself while others had dates next to them and even more had dates and specific causes of what seemed to be their death. Kisuke flipped to the cover and looked behind it. There he saw a few rules. Some rules explained how the Death Note allowed a person to kill with a name and a face, others went into more detail about how death can be defined and what a person couldn't do to kill. He saw another rule that interested him a lot. A rule that stated that the user of the book received a shinigami and how anyone who touches the book is enabled the ability to recognize the voice and image of the shinigami. He also saw a rule that stated that the shinigami follows the owner of the notebook.
Kisuke turned to a section not easily noticed and saw a rule that really took his interest more than the shinigami and would crush Light completely. This particluar rule read: The Death Note will be rendered useless if the victim's name is misspelled four times.
This gave Kisuke an idea. He decided to write his own name 4 consecutive times. He would mispell his own name each time and keep himself safe from the powers of the notebook forever. He went to a black sheet in the center of the book and wrote:
Kiske Tsunosuke
Kissuke Soonoske
Kisuke Suuknowske
Kiisske Sunowske
As he did so, he kept his own face in mind as the notebook instructed. If he did this successfully, he would forever be unaffected by this Death Note and would gain much more than that...IF he did this right. Kisuke then vanished into the shadows to wait for his next plan.
