My first character: Shang Lin

Alliance: Sentou Gakuin

Homeland: Shang was born in a tribal village deep in the forests. Their hierarchy is based on the philosophy: "Power to the Strongest". The leader is actually his father, a man known as Crane Fist whom was famous for his great speed and massive amount of ki. The Council of Elders is second in command and also holds much power in the village. All the males are trained to be fighters while only the most-exceptionally talented women were accepted into the guild. This is due to women generally not having as much ki or physical strength than sexism. The economy is based on agriculture and mining. There is a abundance of nutrients in the soil in the village and their ores are usually pure and unadulterated. Many of the ores that are mined are used for weapons and armor for use by the village's militia in case of an invasion or battle. Others are sold as they are or in jewelry form. Their gold is one of the most beautiful and most expensive of all the other gold produced by the other villages/countries/nations surrounding the village. Despite only being a village, his homeland holds great power due to all the men being full of a natural energy called ki which they employ to make ordinary attacks just that much more devastating. Some of the most exceptionally skilled men in the village may have and be able to access ki of a specific element. A few of those some are so skilled that they are able to access more than one element. So far, only one or two with this ability were alive at the same time so whomever with this power was automatically put into a powerful position in the hierarchy of the village. Some were even made the Leader if the current leader was not able to do the same.

Physical Description[Appearance]: His appearance is that of a 6 ft. musclebound man with naturally spiky hair. He doesn't wear a shirt seeing as he came from a hot climate not to mention that if he wanted, his inner ki would warm him up from the inside. He wears torn pants and black boots. He also wears a green bead necklace. This is a gift from some monks that he met on his adventures. When he is "power-ed up", he gains wings of firelike energy and red tatoos appear on his arms. He also has many scars on his chest from his many battles. However, these may not always be seen due to their having been healed for some time due to his not having fought for the past few months. When he is in his powered-up mode, he takes off his necklace and puts it in his pocket for safekeeping. This is due to the fact that the heat radiating from his body would completely destroy the necklace. The only reason why his pants and boots are preserved due to their being made out of dragonskin. In fact, the only reason why there is a tear in his pants is because of his fight with an exceptionally powerful Suzaku Elite.

Personality:
Being the son of Crane Fist, Shang can be extremely arrogant. However, he has a right to be due to his immense power. He has a sense of honor and respects all his opponents unless he deems them to be weak lazy no-good vagrants. This respect is not restricted to warriors for he also understands that non-warriors are needed for society to function. He does not fight to kill but to become stronger. He will not attack for no reason but he will defend himself when attacked. He is a wanderer so his social skills might not be up to par. He also believes strongly in good and evil and is a good samaritan. Despite all of this, he is not essentially good or evil. He feels that he should not have to align himself with one or the other because he believes that life is not truly like that. He believes that life's decisions and choices are very ambiguous and can never be specifically deemed good or evil. He has also declared that he would resort to killing and other acts that others may deem evil if the situation demands it. He has stated that his goal is to be one of the most powerful warriors in the world and to be able to find a strong, noble leader who is willing to be his substitute that his father may accept. He knows that this is most likely a hopeless dream but he still desires for it to come true.

History/Background Story:
He was born the prince of a village. However, that did not meant that he was pampered. In fact, he lived a life of hardship and challenges because his father wanted to see whether he was a worthy heir. His 2 older brothers were failures in his father's eyes so they left the village to explore the outside world. He never knew the tenderness of a mother for she died from heartbreak of her 2 sons leaving the village. All he ever had was the care of a nanny but how could that ever replace a mother's love? He passed his father's "exam", but the problem was that he despised that sort of life. He was happiest when exploring a section of the forest near the village. His father knew this so they made a deal. He could wander the world as far as he wanted to but he must come back by his 31st birthday. That way, he had one year to travel back home after his 30th birthday. He left the village at the age of 15. Since then he has traveled across the globe and made many friends along the way. he has allied himself with Sentou Gakuin students and staff on multiple occasions when they were in need. Despite doing this, he is still neutral as he won't help unless he sees that they really need it. These four years were really an experience for him. He has met many people throughout his travels including monks, warriors, Sentou Gakuin students and staff, Suzaku agents, wanderers, and many many civilians. He has almost always helped every single one of them through a difficult point in their lives and other such problems. As a result, he is known as a hero thoughout the world and many have come to ask him for his help. He has also worked many jobs throughout these four years despite the fact that any man or woman would be happy to help him with any financial problems due to his status as a hero. Over the years, he has worked as a farmer, miner, security guard, body guard, tailor, banker, poacher, etc. I guess you would have called him a Jack-of-all-Trades except that he was skilled in most of his occupations instead of just having basic knowledge of each profession. He had saved many villages from destruction by the Suzaku and has been on their most wanted list for about 3 years. He has survived many encounters with Suzaku Hunters and Grunts whom had been planning on assassinating him. Finally, a Suzaku Elite decided that it was his mission to kill Shang for he would have a better chance of replacing the current leader if he died and for the money reward. To this day, that elite was one of the few humanoids/persons that he actually had to kill instead of placing in a prison or sending them to another dimension. This is because the Elite was too powerful for him to actually capture and let his allies do with him as they chose. This merciful behavior has come back to bite him in the back many times but in the end, he always comes on top. Hopefully, this trend continues or our hero here will be lying dead somewhere soon and most likely hung as an example to all the enemies of Suzaku.

RPing Sample

He walked into the village and was greeted by the many villagers whom he had helped by exterminating that giant leech that the Suzaku had sent to attack them. The eldest villager approached him and said, "How can we ever repay you for the help that you have given us, sir?" He replied, "It was no big deal, however, is there any chance that there is a inn in this village that is willing to give me food and lodging for tonight? I am quite short on gold as of right now. Thank you." The villager said wholeheartedly, "It shall be done, you will be staying at the Bernard Inn in the very best room that we can find!" He thanked the old man and after exchanging pleasantries with some other villagers, he decided to retire for the night. He entered his room and laid down his bag and weapons next to his bed on the table. He lay on his bed and contemplated what the leech had said. During their fight, the leech had said that his village had a great number of resources and that Suzaku would be planning to take it over so that they could utilize those resources. However, the village that he was protecting was also to be attacked due to their mines full of rhodium and platinum ores. The rhodium would be used for a new super-weapon that could be used to rule the world. Another thing was that his village actually stood a chance while this village had a much less chance since almost all the villagers are civilians except for their Defense Guard, which was full of wanderer class soldiers. However, they were unskilled in using their powers and the most powerful among them almost destroyed the village himself when he lost his temper. To save his village or stop the Suzaku, which one was the better option. For he knew it would haunt him and weigh on his conscience no matter what happened. His tribesmen could come to harm but this town of innocents would be slaughtered. After thinking some more on the subject, he decided to rest and sleep on it.
The next day, he woke up and decided that he had enough time to think. He would search for his brothers whom were only slightly weaker independent warriors to get them to protect their village while he protected this one. He knew he should be protecting his village but he felt that since he had power equal to both his brothers combined and possibly more, he should defend the village with more valuable resources. He "power-upped" and flew at the speed of light towards Shademoria, where his brothers were last heard from. After about 1 day of travel, he finally saw his brothers about 50 yards ahead of him. They were cooking duck on their campfire and were drinking sake when he came up to him. Haido and Jong (his brothers) greeted him, "What's up, little bro." He replied, "Laid back as usual huh, guys." "Obviously, what did you expect?" was their answer. He decided to get right to business and said, "I need your help. Suzaku is planning on attacking our village." Hearing that their village was in danger, they were all business, "What do you want us to do?" He answered, "I need you to go back to the village and make sure everything is alright. You should also stay there for a while as an added security measure. Make sure that you tell father about the Suzaku threat." "Alright, let us just finish our meal and we'll be on our way," was their reply. Shang became pissed off at their once-again laid back attitudes and reached into his hammerspace for a giant mallet and whacked them both on the head. "This is a serious matter! What the hell is wrong with you guys?!" Haido and Jong exclaimed, "OWW! Did you have to attack us with the Hammerspace Mallet? Like, what the hell?" After a few minutes of arguing back and forth, the brothers prepared to depart. They traveled for 2 days back to the village that was Shang's current home due to the two elder brothers not being able to travel as fast. After getting some supplies, Haido and Jong left the village to continue on their journey back home. They sent word back to Shang 2 weeks later that they were almost home. Now all he could do is wait and hope, wait and hope...

Since I did it all in one go, I figured it would be better if I saved the RPing Sample for today. It took me 45 min to make it as it is right now, I'll be posting the rest after class today.

Just a question, can someone please tell me whether I need to use existing attacks when I put some fighting into my RPing Sample or should I make up some new attacks that I will later put into the Attack/Ability Creation Forum later?

Though my grammar nazi senses are tingling, I'll not touch on the RP. However, the rest of your character description is adequate at worst, terrific at best. Approved. Just make a few changes to the RP sample and lengthen it.

I finally completed my character. I was going to have a battle in there but I decided that I should become more familiar with the fighting system before I do anything like that. However, I did create a new attack, Hammerspace Mallet, abeit not a very original one. So am I approved or not?
